How to fix the console resolution after installing part of the ati driver on an arch box connected to your tv because you are too cheap to buy another monitor and now the text is too small

Add:

nomodeset

to the kernel parameters in /boot/grub/menu.lst

Not sure if this will have any unintended consequences though.
