Outline? What??

I have been participating in a contest to write a novel during november.  Maybe you've seen a chapter or two.  I have spent this entire time writing the way Stephen King suggests, without an outline, simply writing what the characters would do and letting the story unfold on its own.  It took off in directions I didn't quite expect, especially when sexual themes appeared in the chapters that were intended to be a break from sexual themes so that my friends wouldn't think that that's all I think about.  Well, on the way home from salsa I thought of a possible ending, and now I have an entire sequence of events:

"very well, citizen"    / also the orchard

...skip a few...

dave sends his stuff to the people with the class action, is asked to testify.

16

Dave, or maybe Biff, in the tunnel, double fisting pistols, and the cops (or mercenaries?) shoot each other

Biff sees them barreling down on Eve and shooting at her, ignites nitro and does the forward flip at 120 miles an hour.  Carby is also out of commission  (the forward flip must be foreshadowed)

biff kicks the door open

"I have a birth certificate"

"Don't tase me bro" (grenade)

Biff gets in Dave's car.  Eve at the wheel.  "Drive."  Red light.  Biff flips up the cap.  "I mispoke.  You need to push that button and haul ass."

the waterfront.  surrounded.  the squid panel has a picture of a squid on the inside cover.  "Have you ever seen him use the trunk?"  "Actually, no."  Pop the trunk.  Biff explains the process during the smoke (water based fog?) portion.  The left dial of the squid panel is a turny thing with 3 settings.  the largest involves smoke grenades that launch before bursting.  The smoke radius extends farther than a block.  Stage 2 is the volatile gas.  Mention the cooked paint.  (they crack the doors)  Stage 3 ignite. inside the inferno.  Biff tells her where to run.  He goes in a different direction.  The cops do not take the bait and kill each other in a crossfire.  Stage 4 is detonate.

the men paid to wait around the corner with the aprilla, as well as a small crowed, watch Eve emerge from the smoke in the pink jumpsuit.  the explosion occurs behind her; the shockwave pushes her hair forward.  the legend is complete.

elsewhere, carby is impounded with the hot ducatis.

I don't like knowing the ending.  It takes away motivation for writing, makes the rest feel like work.  It could change, though, depending on whatever happens next.

I cleaned my apartment and went to salsa tonight, hoping I there was a chance I could make out with my one friend.  She brought someone that she clearly wanted to make out it.  The gender balance was off all night.  I looked down the line, at the edge of the dance floor, and saw a wall of me.  Once when I just got there, I tried to get to my friend and then realized she was walking out (to the bathroom/water fountain).  But, I had passed this girl and thought about dancing with her.  I turned around, thinking "I'll ask her, unless this guy does."  I was maybe five feet away.  There was one guy between us.  As I moved forward he asked her to dance.  That basically happened all night, although I admit there were a few ok-looking girls that I could have danced with had I shown more initiative.  What can I say?  I was sober.

I dance with this one girl.  I saw her leaning against the tiny ass bar, and breifly thought she was this one girl that I met who just moved here and who salsa dances, but doesn't dance my style (on 1, or "L.A. style") and who I didn't invite--the kind of not inviting someone where its super awkward if they end up there anyway.  Turned out to be a completely different girl.  I saw her dancing with this one guy, and she looked like Betsy a tiny bit.  Really, just the curve of her cheek that led to her mouth, and the way her lips hung open when she was thinking or distracted.  I danced with her later.  Turns out she was hot--not supermodel hot--the kind of hot where only people like me think she's hot.  It was awesome.  After we danced she told me her name was Katie.  Later, I saw she had a boyfriend.  Yeah.  I met a girl that looks like Betsy and whose name is Katie--I am not making this up.  So, thanks, universe.  Real classy.  Maybe...maybe next time I could meet a girl named Jessica that looks like Laura.  Actually, Firefly Girl kind of looked like...nevermind.  Who cares.
